about

My favorite part of the Misplaced Moments series is time traveling. Mostly, I am not one to live in the past. Sure, I go back to some fond memories as most people do. Either randomly or when I NEED them. But, I essentially try to live in the now.

With that said, 2018 was a hell of a year...for all the right reasons.

My (then) girlfriend and I got engaged. We bought our first house together. Adopted a second cat (Mose). And yeah, I made a bunch of music too.

As we, now married over two years, are preparing to move from this first house to a new one in just under a week, I was feeling nostalgic. I didn't plan on releasing these songs until next year but I am a madman and had a few minutes of free time to finalize art and mixes. And yeah, Bandcamp Friday.

Per usual with this series- the dates on the songs represent when they were first born or had any writing/recording done to them. Everything after the colon is to differentiate them from other pieces born on the same day, across years, and in other parts of this series. Most of the songs are improvised or built in a single day. Some developed into full song ideas for other projects, but most of them just stayed in this rough state, only heard by me, until now. And yes, that is me doing some "rapping" on the final track. Wow.

The photo is from 2018 and is an especially funny one.

TLDR; but we were house shopping and this is from what we deemed the "Elvis Killer" house. The entire house was everything Elvis. Lamp shades. Plates. Candles. Picture frames. Dolls. Records. You name it, Elvis. The only things that weren't Elvis were the shelves FULL of duct tape and contractor bags. Like, way too many. Oh, and the neatly folded plastic sheet in the basement with power tools laid out on it? Not Elvis either. Nor was the fireplace (crematorium?) that was in the basement. It was a unique abode, but, sufficed to say - we bought elsewhere.

Please enjoy these tiny voyages back in time as I (we) make a big step in the coming weeks. Onward!
