about

After a couple of years of talking about it, a night came in late 2018 when I was able to get my friend, Delfin Lopez, to collaborate on some improvised music with me. As a longtime lo-fi musician himself, but not having released or recorded anything in a few years, I was so excited I was able to get him back into that sort of creative headspace. Under his project “A Haunt For Every Evil Spirit,” he previously released two tapes and collaborated with Dwid from Integrity.

In my basement I setup several “stations” with instruments we could use and record the results live, all while watching some films by Frans Zwartjes projected on the wall. The instruments included electric guitar, guitar pedals, several synths, percussion, trumpet, tape loops, and a DIY bowed guitar instrument called the Viorror. The session lasted several beers and hours. A few months later, I edited, layered, mixed and mastered the tracks to give you what you hear here.

Both sides were designed to be heard continuously but were chopped into shorter sections for convenience.
